Although a Police Jaguar may seem extravagant, when the Ayrshire Police force enlisted OCS 359H in 1970 it was a practical solution to a problem. William Lyon’s cars had always been remarkable value for money and were among the fastest and best handling vehicles around, so as a high-speed Traffic Division cars they were perfect. Buicks post-war styling feature was dropped for their 50th Anniversary dream car, the Skylark convertible. Part of G.M.'s 1953 class of production dream cars, along with the Cadillac El Dorado, Chevrolet Corvette, and Oldsmobile Fiesta, the Skylark had a unique look designed to complete with Erupean styling. Most dramatic was the lack of rear skirt. To this open look were added sporty Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels.

VANGUARDS 1/43 LAND ROVER - MET POLICE SETAC
