1958 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Diecast Model Red 1/18 Die Cast Car By Motormax

1958 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Diecast Model Red 1/18 Die Cast Car By Motormax

A 1/18th scale model is certain to look impressive in the display cabinet, and that certainly is the case with the Chevrolet Corvette of 1958 as modelled by Motormax. This open version looks stunning in its red and white, with plenty of chrome trim. This trim extends to such areas as the interior of the car, with the instrument panels neatly shown.

The bonnet opens to reveal a highly detailed engine, while the boot like wise opens. The front wheels steer, and have suspension, while the doors also open.

Fortunately all the opening features are a good fit, so do not detract from the overall appearance of this fine model.

MATCHBOX YESTERYEAR No.YRS-01-1955 CHEVY 3100, “AAA” TOWING & SERVICE

The American Automobile Association (AAA) was founded in 1902 to serve the nation’s travelers. In the nearly 95 years since its inception, the number of vehicles on American highways has grown dramatically, and AAA has always responded to the challenge. One thing every driver needs is reliable road service when a vehicle breaks down. Sometimes AAA can service a car right at the sight by changing a tire, filling the gas tank, or charging a battery. But there are times when the automobile must be taken into the shop. That’s when the AAA Towing and Service vehicle has always been essential. In the ‘50s, the Sunset Gasoline service station’s Towing and Service truck was just such a vehicle. The station was part of the wide AAA network, and its truck came to the relief of motorrists with in its jurisdiction. After inspecting the problem and determining that the car must be towed, the mechanic used the powerful towing winch to bring the car back to the station where it was given the quality repair service that has always been a trademark of AAA. And now, the AAA Towing and Service vehicle 1955 Chevy 3100 is part of The Fabulous Fifties Road Service Collection. It has been crafted in die-cast metal by Matchbox Collectibles—“the Greatest Name in Die-Cast”

EXOTO RACING LEGEND 1/18 GEORGE WINTERSTEEN #12 1964 CORVETTE GRAND SPORT

Of the 2 Grand Sport Roadsters ever built, Roger Penske bought BOTH! Chassis 001 was picked up from the GM factory and prepped for the 1966 Sebring 12-Hour event. It made its racing debut against Ford GT40's, Ferraris, Chaparrals, and Porsches. After the 1966 Sebring race, George Wintersteen bought Grand Sport chassis 002 from Roger Penske and picked up his Roadster. The Wintersteen Roadster was immediately updated by Traco with a 427 ci engine equipped with a single Holley carburetor. This gorgeous car was recreated faithfully by Exoto! There are a ton of features crammed into this 1/18 scale beauty - here's just a few: - die-cast metal-body, full opening parts - carpeted interior - fabric seat belts with photo-etched hardware - steering function - special louvered hood with to-scale bungie strap - photo-etched radiator with genuine rod bracing - rubber-like Goodyear tires with genuine tread pattern - independent die-cast metal rolling chassis - working suspension & rear suspension trailing arms - ...and MUCH MORE! Here's a little more information on the Wintersteen Roadster, as provided by Exoto.com: Competing in the 1966 US Road Racing Championship, Wintersteen and chassis 002 delivered impressive results at Bridgehampton, Watkins Glen and Mosport, given that the competition was now two years ahead and far more sophisticated. The 1966 USRRC event at Watkins Glen, in particular, stands out from the other races. George remembers being bumped by Charlie Parsons' McLaren before moving over to give Parsons the racing line. "The next thing I knew, Parsons was off in the weeds amid great clouds of dust," Wintersteen recalls. He does not, however, recall stopping his Corvette to pull Mark Donohue from his crashed and burning Lola T70! Shop here

AUTOART 1/43 - 1957 CHEVROLET CORVETTE SS DIECAST CAR MODEL

1957 Chevrolet Corvette SS Diecast Car Model 1/43 Blue Die Cast Car by Autoart

In 1957 the Corvette SS was developed to be the Corvette race car that would beat the best of the European sports cars; the Ferraris and Maseratis. It took Zora Arkus-Duntov only 6 months to develop this purpose built racer. The SS engine deveoped 307 hp at 6,400 RPM from it's 283 c.i. iron block. The aerodynamic drag of the SS was similar to that of the famous D Jaguar and its frame weighed only 180 pounds and was patterned after the Mercedes-Benz 300SL. The instrument panel was functional and elegant. A clock was included which proved useful in the endurance races. The car was a spectacular hit at Sebring in 1957. The SS legend has grown ever since!

1956 CHEVY 3100 "MOBIL BATTERY & QUICK START SERVICE"

In the America heartland, the temperature frequently dips below zero on cold winter mornings, draining power from many cars’ batteries. For nearly a century, motorists have depended on AAA for that crucial jump start. And AAA has always relied on its local network of service trucks to get customers on the road as soon as possible. In the mid ‘50s, the “Battery Service” truck from the Harris Brothers’ Mobilgas station was a familiar sight. Many a stranded driver was glad to see the classiic Pegasus emblem on the side of the truck, for it meant they would soon be rescued. Rigged with a utility cabinet and vise, a battery charger on wheels and a full rack of batteries, the truck was equipped to charge or replace a battery—whatever the motorist needed. And now the Mobil Battery & Quick Start Service 1956 Chevy 3100 is part of The Fabulous Fifties Road Service Collection. It has been crafted in die-cast metal by Matchbox Collectibles—the Greatest Name in Die-Cast.

1957 CHEVROLET 3100 PICK UP (DIXIE GAS PARTS & SERVICE)

A broken fan belt, an empty tank of gas, an overheated radiator. These are easy problems for a mechanic to fix, but they can upset the most pleasant ride. And, when they do occur, a driver hopes for a phone booth where a simple call will send relief and get the car back on the road. For many drivers along the beautiful highways of the south in the 1950s, that relief came from Dixie Gas. With its bright blue and yellow logo on the side of a classic 1957 Chevy 3100, the Dixie Gas Parts & Service vehicle was a gratifying sight to a motorist standing on the side of the road by his broken down car. With friendly service and quality workmanship, the Dixie Gas mechanic examined the problem—and more often than not—fixed it on the spot. This vehicle was often a mobile service station, putting cars back on the road in the quickest time possible. And now the Dixie Gas Parts & Service 1957 Chevy 3100 is part of the Fabulous Fifties Road Service Collection. It has been crafted in die-cast metal by Matchbox Collectibles—“the Greatest Name in Die-cast”

Dixie Oil and Gas Company

From the 1920s onward, the blue and yellow logo of the Dixie Oil and Gas Company was a familiar and welcome sight to American motorists in the South. Crowning gas pumps, oil cans and service vehicles, the logo consisted of a blue ring with the words “Dixie Gasoline” wrapped around a white diamond in a yellow field with the word “Oils.” The sign assured reliable fuel and oil for the increasing number of American automobiles.
