The Jaguar XJ6 Series II was introduced in 1973 with final
production ceased in 1979. Only minor changes were made over the earlier
Series I cars, the bumpers were raised slightly to meet pending US regulations,
the front end was subtly revised and some minor technical improvements were
made. The Series II XJ6 was delivered with either a 4,235cc DOHC I-6 engine
producing 170bhp @ 4,750rpm or a 3,442cc DOHC I-6 engine which produced 160bhp
@ 5,000rpm, transmission was still the 4 speed manual with optional
overdrive, or the optional Borg Warner 3 speed automatic gearbox.

VANGUARDS 1/43 JAGUAR XJ6 AYRSHIRE POLICE
Although a Police Jaguar may seem extravagant, when the Ayrshire Police force enlisted OCS 359H in 1970 it was a practical solution to a problem. William Lyon’s cars had always been remarkable value for money and were among the fastest and best handling vehicles around, so as a high-speed Traffic Division cars they were perfect. The vehicle replaced an S Type, continuing Ayrshire’s tradition of using Jaguars. Shop here

AUTOART 1/18 1956 JAGUAR XK-SS STEVE McQUEEN PRIVATE COLLECTION
1956 Jaguar XK-SS Steve Mqueen Private Collection Diecast Car Model 1/18 Die Cast Car by Autoart
Produced in 1957, basically from 'left over' Jaguar D-Type pressings, the XKSS was simply a racing car with some road car trim. It retained the D-Type 250bhp 'drysump' engines and disc brakes, and much of the performance. Only 16 were built before a disastrous fire at the Jaguar factory ended production. Born of the D-type and sire to the E-Type-the lines were evolving at an early stage. Examples of the real car are very rare and ver, very expensive. This perhaps explain why there are apparently more in circulation now than were originally builts!
The model has superb engine detail: the small doors open, as does the rear boot, the lower revealing the spare tyre. This model fills a gap in the history of Jaguar racing.

VANGUARDS 1/43 JAGUAR XJ6 - BRITISH RACING GREEN
When Jaguar launched the XJ6 in 1968 the world’s press were ecstatic. The race tested XK engine was smooth as well as powerful, and Bob Knight’s chassis genius had enabled William Lyons to produce a truly beautiful car that was also more refined than any rival. Jaguar had the world at their feet, if only British Leyland had let them build it properly.
The number produced shows how popular this model of the Jaguar saloon is expected to be and rightly so. This could be the last we use the Lledo name with Vanguards. Shop here

OXFORD MODEL 1/43 JAGUAR MK VII BRICH GREY
The Jaguar Mark VII was a large four door sports sedan launched by Jaguar Cars of Coventry at the 1950 London Motor Show. The chassis came from the Jaguar Mark V with which the Mark VII shared its 10 feet (3,048.0 mm) wheelbase. But for this latest offering Jaguar designed a modern and streamlined looking body, featuring fully integrated headlights and mudguards along with an increased rear overhang which gave the car enhanced presence. As on the Mark V, the upper part of the rear wheels was covered by the body work. In place of its predecessor's flat windscreen, the Mark VII design included a two piece front screen, which would late become one when the MKVIII was launched. It had of just over 100 mph (163 km/h) and could accelerate from 0-60 mph in 13.7 seconds -17.5 miles to the gallon and all for just under ฃ1700. This is the second casting set in the range of cars from our Oxford Automobile range. Buy it now

BEST MODELS: JAGUAR E-TYPE
This version of the E-Type was raced at the 1962 Le Mans raced by Charles/Coundley. Finished in British Racing green and carrying racing number eight, the car retired in the fourth hour. The model is accurate apart from the missing grille. To stop trackside rubbish blocking the radiator, a light grille (similar to that used later on the V12 E-Type) was fitted, but missing on this miniature. Buy here

SIGNATURE MODELS 1/32 - 1949 JAGUAR XK120
The XK120 was Jaguar's first totally new car since the end of World War II. Jaguar's founder, William Lyons, designed the car in three months in 1948 and his factory built a prototype for the Earls Court Motor Show in just two weeks. Demand for the car was so great and immediate that all the 1949 and 1950 models were made out of aluminum while the factory prepared the tooling to build the cars out of steel. The car, which sold at a list price of ¢G998, was fitted with a new six-cylinder, twin-overhead camshaft engine of 3442cc that could produce 160 horsepower and a sustained speed of 120 miles per hour, providing the 120 its name. Its revolutionary design featured independent front suspension and hydraulic breaks, which unfortunately had a tendency to wear out quickly. At 5 feet, 1.5 inches, the car was wider than other European sports cars, which allowed roomier leather seats as well as storage in the doors concealed with leather flaps. The car's undercarriage was based on the MK-V Saloon chassis but shortened 18 inches to 14 feet, 6 inches. Famous owners included Clark Gable, Phil Hill and Sterling Moss.

VANGUARDS 1/43 JAGUAR XK120 PALE GREEN METTALIC
The Jaguar XK120 was built between 1948-1954 of which 7631 were produced and was fitted with a six cylinder DOHC engine with 160bhp and a top speed of 120mph. It's certainly a superb model and is, without doubt, one of the best Corgi made. From every angle of view the graceful lines of the Jaguar are accurately portrayed with a perfect, smooth, casting finish and a consistently even paint application. The paint finish on the pale green mettalic models seems to be much finer than the rest and is the most desirable colour in the Jaguar model collecting field. See more.
