SCHUCO 1/43 BMW 507

The BMW 507 made its debut at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York in the summer of 1955 and production began in November 1956. The body was almost entirely hand-formed of aluminum. The engine was the aluminum alloy BMW OHV V8, 3.2 liter displacement, with pushrod overhead valves. It had a pair of Solex Zenith two-barrel carburetors and was rated at 150 hp. The V8 was mated to a four-speed manual transmission with a variety of rear-differential ratios available. The 507 was capable of 0-60 mph in about 10 seconds, and the factory claimed a top speed of 141 mph, depending on gearing. The high level of craftsmanship BMW invested in every car made led to increasing production costs, ultimately pushing the U.S. price to $10,500, an amazing amount in the late '50s. Still, BMW lost money on every 507 built, and production was terminated in late 1959 after only 252 were built, plus two prototypes. Today the BMW 507 remains a milestone model for its styling. Of the 252 made, 202 are known to survive, a tribute to the car's appeal. Buy it now

The BMW 503 was unveiled in 1955 and production began in 1956. By 1959, when production ceased, 413 had been built including 139 convertibles. The 503 incorporated a 3168 cc light metal V8 engine delivering 140 hp resulting in acceleration from zero to 60 mph in 13 seconds. Reported top speed was close to 120 mph. The engine was coupled to a four speed manual transmission from the BMW 502 sedan. Sixty years later, the BMW sports cars from the 1950s are much sought after by collectors and enthusiasts both on account of their inherent qualities and because of their rarity. Buy it now

SIGNATURE MODEL 1/18 1962 BMW 700 LS LUXUS GREEN

The BMW 700 was a small rear-engined car produced by BMW from 1959 to 1965, based on the BMW 600 (which was based on the Isetta). It was powered by a 2-cylinder, air-cooled engine of 697cc from the BMW R67 motorcycle. Styling was by Giovanni Michelotti – the car is sometimes compared with his other popular design of the same period, the Triumph Herald. A coupé and a cabriolet was also produced. The car was renamed "LS" in its later years. The 700 RS was a highly tuned version for racing. It had special, lightweight, aerodynamic bodywork and an engine tuned to 70 PS. Hans Stuck campaigned the car with success. Jacky Ickx also raced in 700s. About 180,000 were made in total. Classic BMW from the 60's, nicely detailed interior, opening doors boot and bonnet with engine detail. Shop here

SCHUCO 1/10 BMW R69/S MOTORCYCLE WITH STEIB SIDECAR

The BMW 42 hp R69S was produced from 1960 to 1969 as a relatively high powered, high compression sport bike. The R69S also carried the patented Earles triangulated fork—ideal for use with sidecars—and came with sidecar lugs installed on the frames. The Schuco model replicates the unique fork design as well as the addition of an elaborate Steib TR500 sidecar. Steib began building sidecars in 1925 and was a leader in the category. BMW offered the popular TR500 design for many years. This amazing miniature replicates the mechanical prowess of the BMW motorcycle coupled to the grace and style of the Steib sidecar. See more

SIGNATURE MODELS 1:18 1962 BMW LS LUXUS

1962 BMW LS Luxus Diecast Car Model /18 Red Die Cast Car By Signature Models

The 700 model was the car heralded as turning around BMW in the late 1950s. When BMW showed off the 700 coupe and sedan model at the Frankfurt Motor Show in the autumn of 1959, it received enough orders for two years of production. The 700 was masterminded by Willy Black, the man who had designed the 600 that it replaced, Black again drew on the com, pany¡¦s motorcycle technology, but this time, he enlarged the twin-cylinder engine of the R67 motorcycle to get the power he needed for this larger car. Giovanni Michelotti of Italy styled the car, carrying over themes from his Triumph Herald, a contemporary of the 700. His first sketch was for a slant-roof coupe, which appealed to BMW although the company wanted more passenger room. Michelotti returned with a sketch of a saloon variant, and BMW decided to build both. The 700 Coupe entered production in August 1959 and the 700 Saloon joined it at the end of the year.

BBURAGO 1/24 BMW M3 ROADSTER

BMW Z3 M Roadster Diecast Car Model 1/24 Silver Die Cast Car by BBurago

One of the most distinctive cars of recent years is the BMW M3 Roadster. Its long bonnet line and 'kidney-shaped' grille hark back to BMW sports cars of the past.

Bburago has pulled out the stops to do the car justice. That flowing bonnet line in particular is well done, with seperate air-vents, seatbelts, etc adding to the quality feel of the model. It features openung doors and bonnet and poseable wheel logo is legible.

The BMW Z3 is one of the most handome sports convertibles around. James Bond's Corgi version - based in the car from Golden Eye - has one feature not found in production cars. Press the headrests and stinger missiles are launched from the neat headlights. So, as Bond told Felix Liter: 'Don't start pressing any buttons'

Pierce Brosnan's partner on his first outing as the suave spy is reproduced here to 1:36 scale in an authentically detailed die-cast replica. Working features include re-loadable Stinger missiles hidden behind the headlights, the metallic blue paintwork is precisely matched, and the model comes with figures of Bond and Natalya Simonova See more

The company achieved worldwide fame with its toy cars manufactured in the '30s, '40s and '50s, many of which were patented. While Schuco continues to issue a limited number of metal retro-toys for collectors, today the company is better known for its amazing diecast vehicle replicas. Working directly with manufacturers and car collectors, Schuco painstakingly re-creates each vehicle in miniature, often incorporating tiny details only visible with a magnifying glass. Most Schuco models are issued in specified limited quantities, and once gone, will not be made again. That’s why wise collectors know that a Schuco model isn’t just a purchase: It’s an investment with a lifetime return of enjoyment. See more

BMW 750i - JAMES BOND 007 "TOMORROW NEVER DIES"

The BMW 750i found fame in the Tomorrow Never Dies film during that amazing underground car park sceen. This is a rather nice model of the stylish BM, with some good detail touches in its own right, including well replicated lights and interior. But best of all is the two stage sunroof missile launcher. Press it once and the roof flips open, press it again and the missiles shoot a fair way.

BBURAGO 1/18 BMW Z3 ROADSTER

BMW Z3 M Roadster Diecast Model Red 1/18 Die Cast Car By Bburago

We have now seen the BMW Z3, which is well up to the very high standards set by Bburago in this scale. It features a wealth of fine detail, particularly under the bonnet and in the cockpit, the head and rear lights being authentically reproduced. Equally, a highly detailed engine is provided, while the interior of the car is superb, especially in the area of the dashboard. Good attention has also been paid to the wheels, while the paint finish is superb.

BMW Z3 ROADSTER

BMW Z3 M Roadster Diecast Model Blue 1/18 Die Cast Car By Bburago

This model is the MBW Z3 Roadster, depicted as featured in the film Goldeneye. Even without the 'film-related' connection, this is a superb model. It is well up to the very high standards set by Bburago in this scale. It features a wealth of fine detail, particularly under the bonnet and in the cockpit. While there are some 'working' features, such as steering, opening doors, and an opening bonnet, fortunately, these are a good fit.
