A Simple but effective rendition of Gronholm and Rautiainen's car as entered in the 2004 Monte Carlo Rally. The large windows reveal a very detailed business like interior which includes all safety equipment. We liked the Rally logo on rear window. Shop here

SKID RALLY - PEUGEOT 206 WRC ESSO

It's amazing just how much 'starship' a modern rally car can look and Peugeot's 206 drives this point home. This silver machine is the works, Esso backed Monte Carlo enteant from that year driven by the Panizzi brothers. Conscientious attention to the interior, rear wing and sponsor's adverts are its hallmark and overall this Peugeot looks the part. Shop here

DIECAST MODEL-MG GT WINNER OF MONTE CARLO RALLY

7DBL is an immortal number plate to MGB aficionados because, it was driven to overall victory in the GT Category for sports cars and 17th overall, on the 1964 Monte Carlo Rally by Suffolk based farmers, twins Donald and Erle Morley. They started the event from Oslo and the final result was remarkable for an 1800cc car, albeit one fitted with a ‘stage 6 tune’ engine producing approximately 125bhp. Previously, when fitted with a streamlined nose and aluminium panels, 7DBL had won its class in the 1963 Le Mans, driven by Paddy Hopkirk and Alan Hutcheson. Buy it now.

VITESSE 1/43 MITSUBISHI LANCER EVO VI

From the Vitesse Skid porfolio comes this enchanting Mitsubishi Lancer Evo mould this time celebrating the flying fins of Makinen and Mannisenmaki who won this year's Monte Carlo Rally. Devoid of its Marlboro sponsor lettering it still makes an arresting sight. The cockpit is excellent, as is the mean-looking frontal treatment with the Mitsubishi crest placed proudly on the front radiator. The model also comes complete with a well replicated official Monte Carlo Rally plaque. Buy it now

IXO 1/43 - PANHARD PL 17 - WINNING RALLY MONTE CARLO 1961

The winning crew were M. Martin and R Bateau. The model certainly does the real car justice by capturing its looks well. The small open driver's window affords a view of the rather dark interior. Dashboard detail can just be made out.

MONTE CARLO RALLY SET

From a tiny, cheeky, bizarre looking ‘people car’ invented by design genius Alec Issigonis in the early1960s, the Mini was developed into one of the major sporting sensations of this century. Its capability of embarrassing much bigger machinery in races and rellies captured the imagination of the people like no car before or since.

The Cooper Car Company Ltd., owned by John Cooper, was formed in 1947. In 1961, after official collaboration with the BMC, the first Mini Cooper was announced. This sporting version recognized by its II horizontal grille bars, had a twin-carburettor engine giving 55bph and a top speed of 85mph. Later Cooper ‘S’ variants featured the famous 1275cc. 75bhp engine which had a top speed of 100mph. By the time Cooper’s agreement with MBC lapsed, in August 1971, 145, 493 Cooper Minis had been built the last in July 1971.

During the 1960s, the Mini Cooper dominated the international rallying scene and the Monte Carlo Rally was the most glamourous event of the year. This superb 2-piece set features possibly the most famous Minis of all time, Mini Cooper S 33 EJB, driven to victory by Hopkirk and Lidden in the Monte Carlo Rally of 1964 and Mini Cooper S AJB 44B, driven to victory in the Monte Carlo Rally by Makinen and Easter the following year in 1965.

Each model is made to exact 1:43 scale and produced in England by Lledo PLC. This is to certify that this Monte Carlo Rally Minis Set comprising of two Rally Mini Coopers is one of a special limited edition of 3,000 sets only. Each set is individually numbered.

VAUXHALL CRESTA MONTE CARLO RALLY

The Vauxhall Cresta was launched in October 1957 and like the FA had a distinct transatlantic look to its styling. Initially launched with a 2.2 litre engine it was enlarged to 2.6 litres in 1960 so driver John Watson and his crew, Frank Dimblebee and John Whitmore, entered the 1961 Monte Carlo rally with 95 BHP at their disposal, for the car was almost completely standard. They started the event from Warsaw in Poland and were classified as finishers in 140th position, quite an achievement when you consider that Mr Walker drove the last 450 miles on icy mountain roads with no brakes!

The hugely stylish Cresta is a perennial favourite for Vauxhall fans. This is the first of a new casting, and we are hugely impressed. Lledo have had a chance to let themselves go a little with the chrome on this model, and the results are gorgeous.
