The 1990s produced some notably desirable cars and this NSX was just one example. AUTO ART 1/18 VOLKSWAGEN NEW BEETLE CABRIOLET

Volkswagen New Beetle Convertible Diecast Model Orange 1/18 Die Cast Car By Autoart

It's amazing just how good the larger scale models are these days. All the opening features are provided - doors, boot, bonnet - but they are all perfects fits, so do not detract from the overall appearance of the model. Particularly impressive is the way the boot opens.

AUTO ART 1/18 DATSUN FAIRLADY

This Japanese-made model is divine. The Datsun Fairlady is an excellent base for a replica: a sort of oriental MG Midget, and Auto Art have done a cracking job replicating this car. We love the interior and that detailed dash, the beautiful steel rim wheels with period hub caps, the fitted wing mirrors and the general body shut lines which are spot on. This model comes with a choice of three hood styles: two erected and a black one, folded down. Shop here

AUTOART 1/43 - 1957 CHEVROLET CORVETTE SS DIECAST CAR MODEL

1957 Chevrolet Corvette SS Diecast Car Model 1/43 Blue Die Cast Car by Autoart

In 1957 the Corvette SS was developed to be the Corvette race car that would beat the best of the European sports cars; the Ferraris and Maseratis. It took Zora Arkus-Duntov only 6 months to develop this purpose built racer. The SS engine deveoped 307 hp at 6,400 RPM from it's 283 c.i. iron block. The aerodynamic drag of the SS was similar to that of the famous D Jaguar and its frame weighed only 180 pounds and was patterned after the Mercedes-Benz 300SL. The instrument panel was functional and elegant. A clock was included which proved useful in the endurance races. The car was a spectacular hit at Sebring in 1957. The SS legend has grown ever since!

AUTO ART 1/18 LOTUS ELAN S/E S3 DIECAST MODEL

Lotus launched a legend in 1962, the Lotus Elan. Following on from the previous Elite model the new Elan offered improved handling, performance and had a less fragile feel to its overall design. Below the Elan bonnet sat a twin-cam four cylinder engine which would become a legend in its own right, powering other classic Lotus models including the Cortina sports-saloons.Initially the Elan came as an open two seater, from 1964 a fixed head coupe was also available, both bodies being constructed from GRP and mounted on a separate chassismore. The model has finished in yellow with black interior and hood, very nice detailed dash board, doors and boot open the bonnet also opens to reveal the engine.Moveable wheels with knock ons.

AUTOART 1/18 1956 JAGUAR XK-SS STEVE McQUEEN PRIVATE COLLECTION

1956 Jaguar XK-SS Steve Mqueen Private Collection Diecast Car Model 1/18 Die Cast Car by Autoart

1956 Jaguar XK-SS Steve Mqueen Private Collection Diecast Car Model 1/18 Die Cast Car by Autoart

Produced in 1957, basically from 'left over' Jaguar D-Type pressings, the XKSS was simply a racing car with some road car trim. It retained the D-Type 250bhp 'drysump' engines and disc brakes, and much of the performance. Only 16 were built before a disastrous fire at the Jaguar factory ended production. Born of the D-type and sire to the E-Type-the lines were evolving at an early stage. Examples of the real car are very rare and ver, very expensive. This perhaps explain why there are apparently more in circulation now than were originally builts!

The model has superb engine detail: the small doors open, as does the rear boot, the lower revealing the spare tyre. This model fills a gap in the history of Jaguar racing.

AUTO ART 1/18 1988 BLACK AUDI QUATTRO DIECAST MODEL CAR

Audi's Quattro is legendary. The company's greatest achievement has been to recognize the advantages of all-wheel-drive and then to single-mindedly pursue the necessary technology. The sleek and aerodynamic styling today's Audi models are a preface to what its cars have always been about - performance. This dedication shows in these miniature die cast replica model cars. Engineering was at its heart, so racing and road rallies were a natural outlet for the car's somewhat conservative, yet powerful personality. A high-end automotive investment for true aficionados, detailed diecast models are a real favorite for those of more modest means! This model features opening hood, trunk, doors, and steerable front wheels. This 1988 Black Audi Quattro Diecast Model Car is truly a collectors item.

AUTO ART 1/18 2000 TOYOTA MR2 SPYDER

Borrowing a name from the recent past, Toyota launched a mid-engined, rear-drive, two-passenger sports car as a late 2000 model. The name and configuration had last been seen in 1995, in the form of an MR2 coupe. This time, Toyota made the MR2 a Spyder convertible instead. Priced to go against the popular Mazda Miata roadster, the MR2 Spyder also competed against the more costly BMW Z3-Series and Honda's S2000. Built on a modified version of the Corolla sedan platform, the MR2 held a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine, adapted from the one in the larger Celica sport coupe. See more

AUTO ART 1/18 HONDA S2000

The S2000 was a success even before it had a name. Honda showed a prototype roadster in autoshows and expressed an interest in moving it into production if there was enough market demand. And demand they did. Honda dealers were taking orders and accepting "reservation fees" for an yet-unnamed Honda roadster two years before the S2000 finally hit the US shores. And when the first shipments were delivered to dealers, prices were subject to bidding wars that reached as high as $50,000. The multitudes of favorable reviews by major automobile magazines also contributed to the S2000's popularity. Honda describes the car with this statement: "...an unmistakable expression of the company's racing spirit..." See more

CHAPARRAL 2 ROAD AMERICA JUNE SPRINTS '65

Chaparral 2 Sport Racer 1965 66 Diecast Model 1/18 Die Cast Car by Autoart

This is a model from AutoArt and features the car of Jim Hall famed throughout the world as a racing driver, Formular-One driver and car designer and founder of Chaparral Cars in Midland, Texas. Chaparrals were noted for their use of advanced materials and aerodynamic design to improve the performance of their cars and were some of the most innovative cars of the 1960s. The Chaparral 2 was the first racing car to conspicuously distance itself from the competition. Jim Hall and his team mate James Sharp, whose nickname Hap derived from his birthday on 1st January (Happy New Year!), outclassed the competition when they won numerous races throughout the USA, including the spectacular June sprint races in Road America 1965. This car nicely captures the ethos of the company

AUTO ART 1/18 LAMBOGHINI MURCIELAGO

Lamborghini Murcielago Diecast Model Yellow 1/18 Die Cast Car By Autoart

The Murcielago sports a 6.2L version of the legendary Lambo V-12 engine, a six speed manual or six-speed sequential automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive. It also has a rear spoiler that can be raised to an angle of 70 degrees, side mirrors that fold in to improve aerodynamics, and side scoops that automatically open to the needed size to let in just the right amount of air needed to cool its engine. The name Murcielago comes from a bull that survived 24 sword strokes in an 1879 fight at the arena of Cordoba, and fought with such passion and spirit that the matador chose to spare its life, a rare honour. In another Lamborghini tie in, the bull was later presented as a gift to Don Antonio Miura, a noted breeder, and went on to sire a line of famous fighting bulls. Murcielago also means bat in Spanish and a Murcielago roadster is featured briefly in the movie Batman Begin!

AutoArt's Murcielagos are as you can expect first class 1:18 scale replicas of this exciting supercar, correct in every detail. If only we could afford the real thing!

CHEVROLET CORVETTE INDIANAPOLIS 500 PACE CAR 2002

2002 Chevrolet Corvette Indy 500 Pace Car Diecast Model 1/18 Die Cast Car By Autoart

AutoArt commemorates the Vette's 50th anniversary with this release. It's a very nice replica featuring opening doors, hood, and trunk, and a removable roof panl a difficult item to remove and install. The model's interior is flocked with a cream colored carpet and the seats are tan with Corvette logos on the headrests. Under the hood lies its V-8 engine, but the engine bay could use more detail. Our sample's finish was very shiny and the graphics were excellent. Under the 18-inch wheels lie disc brakes that appear to be metal. With every 50th anniversary AutoArt Corvette model comes a 1:1 scale commemorative license plate frame.
