Corgi No. 351 Land Rover RAF

Corgi No. 351 Land Rover RAF, a metal car produced by Playcraft in England in 1958, measures 9.5 cm in length. It is a Land Rover Series 1 model, serving as a long-range pickup truck for the British Royal Air Force, featuring a blue-gray color scheme (Air Force colors). This model comes with several distinctive features: a removable metal rear bed cover, clear glass, metal tow hooks on the back, a metal underbelly, removable rubber wheels, and aluminum wheel hubs. Additionally, there is a spare tire mounted on the front hood.

Playcraft produced this particular model of metal car in only one color, but it is available in two variations: one with suspension springs and one without, with the latter being from the final year of production. The production of this Land Rover spanned from 1958 to 1962. Despite its age of nearly 60 years, the condition of this metal car is considered to be very good. See more

VANGUARDS 1/50 LAND ROVER SERIES 1 -AA

The Land Rover was launched in 1948 in order to get a product to the market in the immediate aftermath of World War Two. Rover envisaged it would be sold to farmers, and initially underestimated demand for the vehicle. However, the AA Series 1 modelled here is typical in that once the Land Rover was on the market, organisations all over the world realized it was the answer to their problem, and put it to a bewildering amount of uses. With hindsight, its obvious that its towing capacity, storage, and go anywhere ability make the Land Rover an ideal vehicle for an organisation like the AA. See more

DINKY 1/43 DY-9 - 1949 LAND ROVER

The Dinky Collection is a 1949 Land Rover. At first glance this is a nice model, but closer inspection reveals two main criticism: the real vehicle would never have had a chromed front bumper, as the model does, and the chassis is far too low-giving it almost no ground clearance at all. Viewed from the side, this ruins the appearance of the model. Shop here

VANGUARDS 1/43 LAND ROVER - MET POLICE SETAC

We can see this Landie having a lot of appeal to a variety of collectors. The Met used these Special Equipped Traffic Accident Cars (SETAC) for many years, and it was a role the series IIa was well suited to. The front light arrangement is not quite convincing though. Shop here

VANGUARDS 1/43 ROVER 2000

The Rover 2000 was introduced in 1963. It was one of the most innovative Rover models ever and a turning point in the design of the modern car. It had an all new overhead camshaft four cylinder engine, an all disc brake system and a deDion rear axel and was the first British car to be fitted exclusively with radial tyres. Its advanced engineering and styling earned it the accolade of ‘car of the year’, in the first year that this award was made. Later on, the 2000 range was extended with the V8 engined 3500 model which put Rover on the map as a high performance car.

CORGI 1/43 LAND ROVER LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE

Three old school friends - the self styled leader, the timid dawdler and the mischievous scruff-bag with nothing to do and all the time to do it. Corgi have reproduced the scruffy one with Wesleys Land Rover in this charming set.

The much missed Compo is seen ensconced in an armchair held precariously on the back of a Land Rover in this scene from the BBC comedy. The Land Rover is familiar to everyone, and the cold cast figure looks realistic to smell! Shop here

LAND ROVER DEFENDER 110 STATION WAGON – ROYAL MAIL, GLENSHEE

Thirty-five miles north-west of Dundee and fifteen miles south of Braemar, in the heart of the Cairngorms, lies Glenshee; well known as a ski resort in itself, its environs also offer attractions as diverse as mountain biking, golf, walking, climbing, clay pigeon shooting and of course the Cairngorms National Park. However it comes as no surprise that the postal service of this beautiful mountainous region uses a vehicle that can be depended on to deliver the post when no other could; a 1993 Land Rover Defender. The tampo printing is really 'first class' and there are some excellent details. Shop here

VANGUARD 1/43 RANGE ROVER MONTE CARLO BLUE

The current Range Rover is a good example of how the global motor industry is interconnected by a complex web of deals. Originally designed in the UK at Rover's Gaydon centre, it used many BMW sourced components as BMW owned Rover at the time. Rover was sold to the Phoenix Consortium for £10 in 2000, but crucially this sale did not include Land Rover which BMW sold to Ford for 3 billion. Land Rover then launched the current range of Range Rover in 2001.

MINI SEVEN & LAND ROVER/TRAILER ROBERT STACEY ACROPOLIS RALLY 2004

This Limited Edition captures the spirit of the Acropolis Rally 2004. The set features the Mini 7 driven by Robert Stacey, conveyed on a trailer hauled by a Land Rover. Features include accurate badging and detailed vehicle interiors.

RANGE ROVER METROPOLITAN POLICE

The Range Rover Metropolitan Police in the battenburg livery is probably one of the best police models Corgi has ever produced. Several police forces in the UK have been experienting with this livery, with the model depicting the phase 2 design with siveral and panels and reflective red pin striping added. Again the crest is excellent, and the model comes with authentic registration number, roof markings and rear stripes.

MAISTO 1/18 RANGE ROVER SPORT DIECAST MODEL

Range Rover Sport Diecast Model 1/18 Red Die Cast Car by Maisto

The Range Rover Sport is a handsome rather sleek machine that is noticeably smaller than both the lastest Range Rover and the new Discovery 3, which provides the Sports basic platform. If you cannot afford the Range Rover Sports hefty price tag, then how about this scaled down diecast version from Maisto in 1:18 scale. The model colour is red, and very nice it is too! The model captured all the lines of the real thing, and has probably represented the front end with its unique headlamp arrangement. This is an exceptional model from Maisto as it captured the brutish yet sleek lines of the car.

DINKY TOYS: POLICE LAND ROVER

A natural inclusion in the range was a police version, although it took until 1978 to make an appearance. The model is very dark blue, with the same lift-off hardtop as used on the Bomb Disposal Unit, but moulded in white plastic. It has a roof mounted beacon and 'Police' stickers. A plastic policeman is included. The towing hook, featured on all earlier Land Rovers except the Fire Appliance, is omitted from the Police version.
