MAISTO 1/18 - PORSCHE PANAMERA TURBO

2011 Porsche Panamera Turbo Grey Diecast Car Model 1/18 by Maisto

The Panamera divided Porsche fans due to its obvious family man benefits, but if you like the design this replica should appeal, its gun-metal paint is well-applied, every door opens except those for the two passengers, and the interior detail is convincing. the engine also looks good despite being a one-piece moulding.

MAISTO 1/24 - 1970 CORVETTE

1970 Chevrolet Corvette Bronze Diecast Car Model 1/24 Die Cast Car by Maisto

A well-executed metallic bronze paint job and respectable engine detail are the main plus-points of this fetching Stingray, which should excite fans of American muscle cars. Its interior is well-appointed, and high-chrome wheels and trim, opening doors and decent printing make this good value for those on a budget.

MAISTO 1/24 LAMBORGHINI MURCIELAGO LP670-4 SV

This car model is a perfect gift for car lovers. It is a good size and nice color. The doors open up like the real Lamborghini and so does the trunk. These parts seem kinda fragile but if you're careful then they will be fine. The cool thing about this car is when you turn the steering wheel inside the car, the front wheels turn. Overall a very nice product.--kristina  Shop here

MAISTO 1/18 PORSCHE CAYENNE TURBO SILVER

Porsche Cayenne Diecast Car Model 1/18 Silver Die Cast Car by Maisto

Synonymous with high performance sports cars, Porsche's radical change to an executive style off road vehicle has brought many admirers. Maisto's model finished in silver has captured the looks of the original very well.

MAISTO 1/18 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE DIECAST

Maisto makes terrific die cast models. This one is no exception. If you own a Chrysler Crossfire, or wish you did, you might enjoy having this highly detailed model to park somewhere indoors where you can admire it when you're not enjoying the real thing.

The details are very good - hood, doors, and hatch all open. But that by itself doesn't guarantee a great model. Fortunately here, the details are all correct, with even the smallest parts faithfully modeled in the correct colors. The steering wheel moves together with the front wheels that may be posed in a range of positions.

I like that Maisto even with to the trouble of making the wheels and tires the right sizes - with the correct proportioned smaller front wheels and tires and larger rear - to give the model the same aggressive appearance sitting on your shelf as it has at the curb!

This model is of the normally aspirated, six-speed manual, so SRT owners go begging (or face the challenge of finding a 1/18-scale set of upgrade parts to make it so)!--Paul Mark Provencher "ppro"  Shop here

MAISTO 1/18 PORSCHE CAYENNE TURBO SILVER

This is one of the most impressive models I've seen from Maisto. They are a difficult company to fully figure out- often their products have ranked as average at best, but they are more than capable of performing real quality works, as this model shows. Built in Thailand and released in a glossy metallic silver paint with tan interior, this model of the Cayenne is 1:18th of the real thing. It weighs something over a pound, is about 10.5 inches long and 4 inches wide.

Functionality: the driver's and front passenger's door open, and while the hinges squeak something awful on mine, the doors are more securely mounted than I've seen on some models. The hood and rear liftgate open as well. The hinges on those are a bit stiff, somewhat like the doors, but again all these moving parts are mounted pretty well. Also to be considered is the fact that because all the opening parts are a bit stiff, they don't swing open and shut whenever they feel like it, and you don't have to do anything to make them stay open. Now, the rear passenger doors, left and right, do not open.

Appearances: this model looks realistic, just as it should. The underside, hood, interior, and exterior all have a remarkable look and feel of quality and detail to them. Maisto's Cayenne also has a certain sharpness to its appearances. Taut, well-made. Just like the German automobile it replicates.

Understand, of course, that this is not meant to be a toy. Something more simple, and durable, would probably be better if that's the kind of use you have in mind. But this Cayenne could probably hold up well if treated with care, even as a toy. Just don't get careless and break it. Know it's a model first and foremost. This is a quality model, and certainly more durable than some models I've come across. Prices aren't too bad, either, from what I've seen. This is definitely one of Maisto's better works. --Alan Edward Creager "Master & Commander") Shop here

MAISTO 1/18 1971 DATSUN 240Z

For the price this is a pretty decent die cast. It's my first Z car scale model and I'm happy with it. I bought mine while they were available for a great price at Costco.

The general dimensions seem to be spot on from the outside. The model itself does have some very fine details and decals too. The scuff plate decal in the door frame looks like metal and has the tiny word DATSUN on it. There's even a minuscule VIN plate on the dash with legible numbers and the month that the California plate would be set to expire is almost discernible. The headlights, front turn signals and taillights are each separate plastic pieces and look very convincing. The side marker lights are painted on though. The tires are appropriately skinny with early style "D" hubcaps. Inside, there is period correct diamond pattern where it would have been on the original vinyl, the tiny three spoke wheel had the right indentations as well as a painted on wood rim and the door panels even have pulls and knobs molded onto them.

Both doors open, as well as the hatch and hood. The front wheels turn in conjunction with the steering wheel and it has independent suspension with coil springs all the way around, just like the real car. The underside of the body is comprised of 3-4 big slabs-o-plastic that have molded in details like the IRS, engine, transmission, splash pan and gas tank. There is a correct looking exhaust system complete with dual pipes that merge into one collector and route properly to the rear and out through a single muffler.

There are only a couple of disappointments. The biggest being the engine bay, which is one solid piece of plastic with a few parts painted (valve cover, air cleaner, spark plug wires and fluid reservoir caps). Under the rear hatch the metal of the body juts out at the bottom, quite unlike the real deal, and on the plastic window frames for both front doors, at the leading edge they get too thick right by where the rearview mirror is. It is accurate in only having a rearview mirror on the driver side however.

All in all, for the price, I'm happy with this model. So much so that I bought four of them. --W. Wilhelm  Shop here

MAISTO 1/18 PORSCHE 550A SPYDER DIECAST MODEL

Surely one of the most aesthetically pleasing cars ever built, the Porsche 550 A Spyder looks great in black with red upholstery. This detailed 1:18-scale replica has an exceptionally solid metal body. Although the detailing is plastic, there's not much of it on this pared-down fun machine. The steering wheel actually turns the front wheels, and the doors, hood, and rear compartment can be opened, the latter revealing engine, leather tool bag, and spare wheel. All four wheels have independent suspension springs. The car comes on a black, fake-wood display stand, but you can easily remove the two screws for some stylish, open-air motoring around your floor or desktop. --Richard Farr

MAISTO 1948 PORSCHE NO.1 TYPE 356

When Maisto puts "Special Edition" on something, they're not just blowing exhaust fumes. It used to be that this Porsche No. 1 Typ 356 Roadster could only be owned by the fabulously wealthy, but now you can have one too. Sure, it's a bit smaller--in 1:18 scale the car measures about 8 by 2.5 inches--but it's lost none of its elegance in the miniaturization process. Pop the back hood to reveal a remarkable engine replica, not to mention a spare tire and a tool kit. Pop the trunk to find a spacious luggage compartment. Open either door to get to the steering wheel, which controls the movement of the rubber front wheels. You may be so entranced with this Porsche you'll be tempted to buy a real one. The box says for ages 3 and up, but unless your 3-year-old has a fine appreciation for automobiles the model craftsmanship here will go unnoticed. The collector, however, will recognize it immediately. --Keith Simanton

MAISTO 1/18 CHEVROLET CAMARO Z28 1968 DIECAST CAR MODEL

The Camaro was initially advertised on Top 40 AM radio stations of the day in an attempt to woo the young adult market. Although it was technically a compact car (by the standards of the time), Camaro may also be classified as an intermediate touring car, a sports car, or a muscle car.Though the car's name was contrived with no meaning, GM researchers reportedly found the word in a French dictionary as a slang term for "friend" or "companion." The Automotive press asked Chevrolet product managers "What is a Camaro?", and they were told it was "a small, vicious animal that eats Mustangs. See more

MAISTO 1/18 RANGE ROVER SPORT DIECAST MODEL

Range Rover Sport Diecast Model 1/18 Red Die Cast Car by Maisto

The Range Rover Sport is a handsome rather sleek machine that is noticeably smaller than both the lastest Range Rover and the new Discovery 3, which provides the Sports basic platform. If you cannot afford the Range Rover Sports hefty price tag, then how about this scaled down diecast version from Maisto in 1:18 scale. The model colour is red, and very nice it is too! The model captured all the lines of the real thing, and has probably represented the front end with its unique headlamp arrangement. This is an exceptional model from Maisto as it captured the brutish yet sleek lines of the car.

MAISTO 1/18 SCALE - MERCEDES CLK-GTR

Following the release of the 1977 ‘works’ AMG and Person Motorsports models of the Mercedes CLK-GTR, the 1998 Champions, gained by victory a the last race, were Klaus Ludwig and Ricardo Zonta, who beat the favourites Bernd Schneider and Mark Webber to the title. The car shown is the Schneider/webber car with racing number 1. When first raced at Le Mans, the car was a dismal failure, retiring early after a fast start; the decision to race at the French circuit proved to be an error. The model has opening doors and removable rear bodywork. The interior of the driver’s cockpit reveals plenty of detail, including all the knobs and dials. The rear body shows engine internals, full suspension detail and engine wiring, which, for a model of this size and cost, represents good value for money. The car carries ‘D2’ and ‘Warsteiner’ sponsorship. See more.

MAISTO 1/18 FORD GT90 CONCEPT CAR

The Ford GT90 Concept Car has not been otherwise modelled, so it is good to see this version from Maisto in 1/18th scale. The unusual shape has been perfectly captured--note particularly the doors, which are a good fit, and indeed need to be given the overall look of the car.

The model displays a number of other workable features, such as steering, suspension, opening bonnet (to review a fully detailed engine), adjustable wind deflectors and adjustable seats. As one would expect, the lamps are made of plastic, the wheels are authentic, and the Ford badge appears appropriately positioned.

Whether the car will go beyond the 'concept' stage only time will tell, but as a piece of future motoring history, this model should be in every enthusiast's collection. See more.
