Although a Police Jaguar may seem extravagant, when the Ayrshire Police force enlisted OCS 359H in 1970 it was a practical solution to a problem. William Lyon’s cars had always been remarkable value for money and were among the fastest and best handling vehicles around, so as a high-speed Traffic Division cars they were perfect. The vehicle replaced an S Type, continuing Ayrshire’s tradition of using Jaguars. Shop here

Buicks post-war styling feature was dropped for their 50th Anniversary dream car, the Skylark convertible. Part of G.M.'s 1953 class of production dream cars, along with the Cadillac El Dorado, Chevrolet Corvette, and Oldsmobile Fiesta, the Skylark had a unique look designed to complete with Erupean styling. Most dramatic was the lack of rear skirt. To this open look were added sporty Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels.

VANGUARDS 1/43 LAND ROVER - MET POLICE SETAC

We can see this Landie having a lot of appeal to a variety of collectors. The Met used these Special Equipped Traffic Accident Cars (SETAC) for many years, and it was a role the series IIa was well suited to. The front light arrangement is not quite convincing though. Shop here

YAT MING 1/43 - 1968 FORD MUSTANG GT FASTBACK BULLITT STEVE McQUEEN

One of Steve McQueen's most famous films, 'Bullitt', features a wild, roller coaster chase scene through the streets of San Francisco, with Steve McQueen driving a '68 Mustang GT. The scene is probably the first major car chase ever used in a feature film and every movie car chase that has followed over the years owes allegiance to Steve McQueen for making it happen
