FISHERMAN'S WHARF 1920 MACK AC

If you’ve ever been to San Francisco, you know that one spot everyone recommends is Fisherman’s Wharf. Renowned for both its beauty and savory seafood. Fisherman’s Wharf is the place where the city’s many fishermen dock their boats. In the course of a year, these intrepid seafarers bring in millions of pounds of fresh rock cod, sole, salmon, herring and a variety of shellfish. You can even buy fresh crab and shrimp cocktails from street vendors who cook the just-caught shellfish in metal kettles right there on the side walk. Now the spirit of fisherman’s Wharf is captured in an intricate replica of a 1920 MACK AC delivery truck with a full load of fish—including crabs and clams. This replica captures a vehicle built by Mack Trucks, Inc., the famous truck manufacturer whose roots date back to 1900. The company was born when two Mack brothers took over the Fallesen wagon factory in Brooklyn, New York. The company quickly progressed from making horse-drawn wagons to motorized buses. In 1905, Mack Trucks moved to Allentown, Pennsylvania which soon became known as “the truck capital of the world.” Mack trucks were soon respected around the world for their toughness and reliability. Now portrayed carrying a fresh catch from Fisherman’s Wharf to a San Francisco restaurant, your model is produced by and available only from Matchbox Collectibles.

WHAT IS A TREASURE HUNT?

A Treasure Hunt Car is a series car just like all the others. There are 12 cars per series year, one for each month of the year. Some of these Treasure Hunt cars have synthetic tires and look much different than the other series cars and make them more appealing to collector. These cars are on cards just like the other series cars and have series banners just like all the others. The one thing that make them really stand out is that they have either a dollar sign "$" on them or a picture of a treasure chest along with the series banner has always been he color green. You know, the same color as money

At first, these cars were very limited in production. In 1995, they were released with a production run of 10,000 for each car. This number was printed in the upper left-hand corner of the face of the card. With production numbers being that low, they were indeed a treasure to find and worth all the commotion they created.

In 1996, the production number was increased to 25,000 for each car, giving the collector a better chance of finding them. This number was also printed on the face of the card. This was the last year any production numbers were printed on the cards. It seems as time went on, the production numbers have increased and are not released to the public anymore. 1961 CHRYSLER IMPERIAL CROWN CONVERTIBLE

1961 Chrysler Imperial Crown Convertible. 1:18 scale diecast collectible model car, 12"L x 4.5"W x 3"H die cast convertible. Includes: 24K gold plated coin and certificate of authenticity. Road signature series. Manufactured by Yat Ming; 20138 in white color. Individually packed in a window box.

"Excellent product. I collect 1:18 cars (collection of 70+, all brands and makes) and this is one of the two or three best ones I have. And the others cost 90 or 100 dollars apiece. AN ABSOLUTE STEAL!!!! Better quality than many AutoArt I own that cost 3 or 4 times as much! The windows go up and down, the sun visors flip, the rear center armrest flips down, the front seats flip, the antenna goes up and down. All of this with a thick (for a model car) carpet, amazing detail, and real hinges on the hood (not arms). Compare at other sites for up to 3 times the cost, and this car is an all-around steal. MONTE CARLO RALLY SET

From a tiny, cheeky, bizarre looking ‘people car’ invented by design genius Alec Issigonis in the early1960s, the Mini was developed into one of the major sporting sensations of this century. Its capability of embarrassing much bigger machinery in races and rellies captured the imagination of the people like no car before or since.

The Cooper Car Company Ltd., owned by John Cooper, was formed in 1947. In 1961, after official collaboration with the BMC, the first Mini Cooper was announced. This sporting version recognized by its II horizontal grille bars, had a twin-carburettor engine giving 55bph and a top speed of 85mph. Later Cooper ‘S’ variants featured the famous 1275cc. 75bhp engine which had a top speed of 100mph. By the time Cooper’s agreement with MBC lapsed, in August 1971, 145, 493 Cooper Minis had been built the last in July 1971.

During the 1960s, the Mini Cooper dominated the international rallying scene and the Monte Carlo Rally was the most glamourous event of the year. This superb 2-piece set features possibly the most famous Minis of all time, Mini Cooper S 33 EJB, driven to victory by Hopkirk and Lidden in the Monte Carlo Rally of 1964 and Mini Cooper S AJB 44B, driven to victory in the Monte Carlo Rally by Makinen and Easter the following year in 1965.

Each model is made to exact 1:43 scale and produced in England by Lledo PLC. This is to certify that this Monte Carlo Rally Minis Set comprising of two Rally Mini Coopers is one of a special limited edition of 3,000 sets only. Each set is individually numbered.
