HOT WHEELS 2004 TREASURE HUNTS SET

Congratulations! You now own what's considered by many to be the holy grail of the Hot Wheels collector series. In 1995 Mattel introduced Treasure Hunt vehicles - a series of 12 cars issued monthly with exclusive decorations and a very limited production run. Nine years and nine series later, these cars are still some of the most sought-after models and almost impossible to fin. This HWC online exclusive offers avid Hot Wheels fans and collectors the opportunity to purchase all twelve '04 Treasure Hunt vehicles in a limited edition set in a stylish display package. You'll treasure this precious collection for years! ['65 Pontiac Bonneville, GT-03, Cadillac Cien, Double Demon, Super Smooth, Splittin' Image, Altered State, Morris Wagon, Whip Creamer, Tantrum, Audacious, Meyers Manx] Set will come in the original white box it shipped with from Mattel. Buy it now.

WHAT IS A TREASURE HUNT?

A Treasure Hunt Car is a series car just like all the others. There are 12 cars per series year, one for each month of the year. Some of these Treasure Hunt cars have synthetic tires and look much different than the other series cars and make them more appealing to collector. These cars are on cards just like the other series cars and have series banners just like all the others. The one thing that make them really stand out is that they have either a dollar sign "$" on them or a picture of a treasure chest along with the series banner has always been he color green. You know, the same color as money

At first, these cars were very limited in production. In 1995, they were released with a production run of 10,000 for each car. This number was printed in the upper left-hand corner of the face of the card. With production numbers being that low, they were indeed a treasure to find and worth all the commotion they created.

In 1996, the production number was increased to 25,000 for each car, giving the collector a better chance of finding them. This number was also printed on the face of the card. This was the last year any production numbers were printed on the cards. It seems as time went on, the production numbers have increased and are not released to the public anymore. About the AuthorAuthor/Freelance writer, Michael S. Zarnock writes Collector Guides and Articles about Hot Wheels® toy cars and is one of the worlds most respected authorities on Hot Wheels® and also holds a Guinness World Record ™ for his Hot Wheels® collection.

Some of Michael’s accomplishments over the years include racing Moto Cross as a teenager to building and driving many Show and Drag Cars as an adult. Some of those Drag Cars ended up being Street Racers for other people. Michael has many stories’ about those Street Racing days that he says he would like to put in a book, including the time he got kidnapped. He says, "Hey, It could happen. Who would have thought I would write books about Hot Wheels® ?"

The mid 1980’s brought another challenge to Michael when he became a singer/drummer and co-wrote songs in a band called "The Blister Tones". After 3 years and 3 Albums, the band split and he went back to working on his house and collecting Hot Wheels® again.

It’s come to be, that Michael has spent so much time and effort on his collection that he has become one of the world’s most respected authorities on Hot Wheels® and their variations.
So much so, that it prompted him to write a best selling Variation Guide called "The Ultimate Guide to Hot Wheels ® Variations", that went into it’s second printing. The 2nd. Edition is written and scheduled for a March 2004 release. He has also done the "Warmans' Hot Wheels® Field Guide", the Hot Wheels® Collector Numbers section in "The Standard Catalog of Die-Cast Vehicles", "Toys & Prices 2004" and a few others that are currently under development. All of these and future publications are available at Bookstores around the world. If you’re looking for up to date Hot Wheels® information, Michael is currently under contract with "Toy Cars & Models®" magazine where he writes a monthly Hot Wheels® Variation Guide. In his column he talks about the most current Variations to be looking for along with prices. See more.

HOT WHEELS ROLLIN' 100 CAR CASE

This is a great case for kids with LOTS of cars. A few of these replaced the many unsightly bins of cars we had around our house. Keeping them in a case like this cuts down on damage to the paint and being on wheels makes it easy for kids to move the fun from room to room / clean up after themselves. The slots that hold the cars come in a variety of sizes. Some of the largest trucks won't fit, but most will. (Comment by M. Roth)

New for 2006! Blue & Black Asst. The 100 car case has a cool new look & includes a removable dual launcher. Lift the telescoping handle & wheel the case anywhere. Boys can launch 2 - 1:64th scale vehicles at once. This case holds up to 100 - 1:64th scale Hot Wheel Vehicles. Order Now.

HOT WHEELS OVER THE DOOR DISPLAY CASE

It's cool to display 120 of your favorite 1:64th scale Hot Wheels Vehicles. This lightweight case clips on the back of a standard door. Store and display vehicles in these awesome vinyl pockets.

This is really neat. It holds a ton of cars and fits over the door. Our boys have a million cars (not really, but they have filled up 2 of these w/leftovers). The slots are pretty good sized and there is a larger pocket towards the top. However, not all cars fit in the pockets. It doesn't hold larger type vehicles (example: ambulances, bulldozers, ect) but most of the cars fit nicely. Overall is a smart idea to get the cars off the floor (and out from underneath your feet!). (Comment by Melissa Kyle) Order Now.

HOT WHEELS FIRST EDITIONS BATMOBILE 2004

I collect bat mobiles, and haven't been happy with the new design since the 1966 George Barris version... until now ! This car enhances all the great features from the popular T.V. Series version. Everything from the domed windows and duel exhausts, to the extreme bat- winged tail fins, makes this one of my favorite Batman "Hot Wheel" car's ever ! The NEW purple and black paint job was the icing on the cake ! (Comment by Scott C. Derry "Toy Collector") See more.

NEW VERSION OF A CLASSIC CAR : TV SERIES BATMOBILES

Hot Wheels 2007 First Editions 1966 TV Series Batmobile #15/36. This car has the classic gloss black with red pinstripe paint job, mesh grill, black base and chrome wheels.

Comment this diecast by Davidp (Florid, October 17, 2007)
I've been a big fan of the T.V. Batmobile since I was a kid. I've collected several versions over the decades including the Corgi, and the Husky diecasts, but I was never quite satisfied because, no matter how nice they were, they just weren't quite right. This new Hot Wheels version, while not spot-on accurate, comes closer than the previous versions. I particularly like the red pinstriping down the sides, although it would've been nice if it continued around the front and rear of the car. But hey, this is a toy. If you're really hoping for the ultimate in accuracy, you'll have to wait until early 2008, when Hot Wheels will be be releasing their 1:18 scale diecast, which will be scanned from the original car used in the '66 television show. Until then, this little gem will do nicely. See more.

From the wheels to the curved windshield, 1966 TV Series Batmobile is detailed on an astonishing scale, embodying the history and heritage of Batman and Hot Wheels alike. 35th ANNIVERSARY RED FERRARI 156 F1

The Ferrari 156, affectionately dubbed "sharknose" due to its characteristic air intake "nostrils", was a race car made by Ferrari in 1961 to comply with then-new F1 regulations that lowered engine displacement from 2.5 to 1.5 litres. It is one of the most iconic racecar shapes and one of the most distinctive of all Ferraris. Phil Hill won his only Formula One Driver's World Championship in it and the car also secured Ferrari their first Formula One World Constructor's Championship.

Bore and stoke were 73.0 x 58.8 mm with a displacement of 1,476.60 cc and claimed 190 PS at 9,500 rpm. Unfortunately, then-Ferrari factory policy inevitably saw all the sharknose 156s sMattel Hot Wheels 2002 Hall Of Fame 1:64 Scale 35th Anniversary Red Ferrari 156 F1 Die Cast Car crapped by the end of the 1963 season. Nevertheless a F 156 is exhibited in the "Galleria Ferrari" at Maranello, possibly a replica. However, the intake duct styling that made the "sharknose" so unique was applied over forty years later to the F430.

The updated Ferrari 156, used in the 1963 season, did not feature the distinctive sharknose design.
