CORGI 1/50 SHILLIBEER ROUTEMASTER

In 1979 came the 150th anniversary of George Shillibeer's original London omnibus, and to mark the event twelve Routemasters were sponsored to be decorated in a special green and yellow livery reminiscent of that used by Shillibeer. The result was attractive vehicles which brightened up the streets of London.

On the actual buses, the surrounds to the windows were red: while Corgi has provided a red surround to the windscreen, the other windows are left completely yellow. The advertisements for North Thames Gas on the front and rear are a little too small ; they should extend the full depth of the green panel.

The combination of the green and yellow in the area above the engine cover is not accurate, but again probably resulted from the difficulty in mask spraying in this part of the casting. Shop here

EFE 1/76 PLAXTON PARAMOUNT 3500 - STRATHTAY

This livery certainly enhances the look of this attractive vehicle. There is plenty of lettering, legal and otherwise, along the vehicle's side and this is crisply reproduced. The modelled vehicle carries fleet number 435, along with registration number 365 DXU. Shop here

1954 SCENICRUISER

Introduced in 1987 all the components were designed specifically for this model. The body consists of a single casting into which is inserted a smoky grey Perspex window section, being the first and to date the only Lledo to have the luxury of glazing. The body is supported on a metal chassis with the axles being held in place by a plastic baseplate. The wheels are single moulded hubs and tyres with the legend Lledo  embossed on the outer walls. These wheels can also be found on the DG15 & 17. Withdrawn from standard range at the end of 1990.

CORGI 1/50 GUY ARAB UTILITY BUS SOUTHAMPTON CORPORATION TRANSPORT

The model of Corgi's purposeful Guy Arab bus - this time looking handsome indeed, in a red over yellow colour scheme. Carrying Typhoo advertising, perhaps it's not everybody's cup of tea but you can't knock the detailing of this batch of 2600 production runs. DTR44 was a frequent sight on the dock run and was part of a 185-strong fleet commissioned between 1946 and 1955.Shop here

CORGI OOC 1/76 VAN HOOL ALIZEE - SHEARINGS

OOC's elegant Alizee coach has recieved one of its most attractive liveries yet. To celebrate 80 years, and the dreaded Millennium, Lewis of Greenwich revised its normal liver to represent the Thames flowing through Greenwich 'Home of the millennium' - (Greenwich Observatory is on the Meridian line and where GMT is measured from).

The delightful compass logo and Thames way line are really well done, resulting in one of the best millennium models produced. The registration LEW 15 W is a clever touch by Lewis. The tampo printing of such tiny details as the welcome aboard slogan is excellent. Shop here
