The performance of the car when launched was understated by the team. The performance of drivers, Ralf Schmacher, and rookie Jensen Button obtaining third place in the Constructors' title race, showed that BMW had got a few things right on their return to the F1 arena. The model of the car carries racing number No.9 and is of Schumacher's mount. His best result was third place, which he gained twice.
